Tips For Getting A Degree In Computer Science

Unlike to many other niches, computer science counts to one of the best paid and promising niches today. Because of the large increase in people buying computers and requiring quality services, more and more companies hire specialists in different micro niches such as programming, supervising, managing or support.

But what does all that have to do with obtaining a degree in the niche? Well, computer science is a very competitive market that requires more specialized experts than ever before. With the accumulation of a bachelor's degree a person will not only be estimated higher but it will open many doors for him or her.

It doesn't matter if it takes you 3 or 5 years to obtain a specialized degree in the field because once you have it, many employers will be glad to test your expertise and eventually higher you long term. We all know that it can be extremely difficult to get involved in a computer science degree program, especially if you are working a full time job. Besides, you might have other responsibilities like family, business etc for that you have to take care of.

Anyway, whenever you decide to get involved in a degree program make sure to plan every single aspect in advance. There is no worse thing than starting with a program and not being able to finish it. In fact, attending a 2 year internet course is a long commitment. You might have to give up on other things while you attend online or local classes. There is always a price to pay and therefore you have to make a decision for the long term.

If you think you cannot afford a degree program because you have limited financial resources you can apply for scholarship at your local university. On the other hand, if you don't think you would have sufficient time to visit a local university you should look into online courses.

Online courses tend to be very cost-effective and are mostly a lot cheaper. It is recommended to get the price for a specific degree program from different internet providers to filter the most reasonable and appropriate offer. Make sure to keep note on every offer you get and try to decide which offer would best suit your needs and current circumstances.

All in all, it can be said that there are many possibilities for degree programs. If you want to be more successful in your computer science degree you should definitely advance your education.

Guitar Lesson: Mary Had A Little Lamb For Beginners

Have you ever played a melody on a guitar? Well, if not let this be the first time! I will show you how to play Mary Had A Little Lamb on one string with one finger on your left hand and one finger on your right.

What string you use on your or somebody elses guitar doesn't matter. It's a matter of personal choice.

As you know Mary Had A Little Lamb is a popular nursery rhyme. Here is the first verse:

Mary had a little lamb

little lamb, little lamb

Mary had a little lamb

its fleece was white as snow

Thomas Edison used this poem in testing his invention of the phonograph in 1877. It became the first audio recording to be successfully made and played back.

Let's start by playing on a string of your choice. Play the string with the thumb. If you play the string three times with your right hand thumb we can write it down like this:

0-0-0

If you press down the string on the second fret with your left hand first finger and play it three times and then lift your finger and play on the open string three times like you did before it will look like this:

2-2-2-0-0-0

Got the idea? Well, to play Mary Had A Little Lamb you need two more notes. Press down your first finger on the fourth fret and then on your seventh fret and you have all the necessary notes. The song looks like this:

4-2-0-2-4-4-4--2-2-2--4-7-7

4-2-0-2-4-4-4-4-2-2-4-2-0

If you still have questions you can ask a guitar playing friend to help you. She or he will probably be proud to help you.

If this melody is a little bit to easy for you, you can show it to a not guitar playing friend. Many people start to smile when they can play something on the guitar for the first time!

The Ballet Bible

When I first purchased this book I thought that it would be something fun to share with my students. I collect all things related to dance, knicknacks, posters, DVDs...hence books. When I stumbled upon the eBook online I thought at the very most that it would be a nice addition to my collection of souvenirs. I am a dance teacher and volunteer with work at a dance competition and I am always looking for things about the 'world of dance', I just love anything to do with dancing. I am a very big fan of So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars. I can't wait for them to start again.

So when I actually had the opportunity to read the Ballet Bible I was presently surprised! It surpassed my expectations (which hadn't been very high considering the sales pitch). I had actually found a true gem, an eBook about ballet with solid, valid teaching techniques. The book has over 200 pages of VALID information - SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

Many of the students I teach are heavily into dance competitions such as American Dance Awards, Starpower, Headliners and all the other big ones that I'm sure many of you are aware of. So they are not always interested in how to become a ballerina, but I always try to engrain in them during their dance training that it isn't about how to become a prima ballerina that is important. It is the solid foundations of ballet training that support everything and anything they do related to dance. Ballet training is what truly separates the great dancers from the weak or mediocre. So they roll their eyes at me after one of my lectures and begrudgingly trek upstairs to the ballet room. Well there is one problem - finances. It is true that not all of my students can afford the extra classes that we offer at our school and of course fall short in their training. I must admit, although it is unfortunate, that these particular students don't always do as well when it comes time for dance competition season. Such a shame.

Well now we have - The Ballet Bible! Although you cannot of course compare this to an actual class it is a great study guide for those who want to put in some extra hours at home. If you can only afford one class a week but want to read up on some tips for improving your dance competition game or honestly improve your ballet technique as a whole, this is a great purchase.

Section 1 - "The 3 Simple Rules of a Prima Ballerina" is the pdf version of the eBook which contains over 200 pages of text, pictures and complex illustrations of ballet positions and movements. This part of the eBook tells you how to perform the moves correctly and also illustrates common mistakes that most people make when learning. This is the best part of this section of the material. Sometimes dancers really need to be shown the wrong way in order to correct themselves and conduct the move correctly. Excellent!

Section 2 - "Audio Terms and Definitions" is the audio software package. This section offers a search and find feature that enables you to find any ballet term and learn its corresponding meaning. For each exercise, dance step, position, and/or pose, all you have to do is point and find. The reader also learns the correct French accents for specific terms - it is that detailed. After you click on the term you can hear the correct definition, it is a great feature! This is exactly like hearing a dance teacher give instruction in the classroom.

Section 3 - "Video Demonstrations" is a collection of over 60 videos on ballet technique. That's right, 60 videos, that is equivalent to 60 different classes. If you actually had to pay for 60 dance classes you can imagine the cost you would incur. Now you can put on your dance shoes and follow along in your living room. Being able to watch and imitate is an invaluable tool that The Ballet Bible offers!

Now all the positives being said of course there are the cons.

Being in a dance class with an experienced, qualified teacher is irreplaceable. With an eBook the "hands-on" aspect of dance is non-existent to say the least. You don't have the teacher physically correcting you and manipulating the student's body into the correct positions. This is something you can only get in a classroom. But the alternative is nothing at all.

So - THE BALLET BIBLE is the best compromise! It's author, Anita Leembruggen, is a trained dancer and educator in ballet. She has spent years in the studio and has brought this book to you to share with your students and/or children in the home. Now everyone can learn ballet, it will be as simple as turning on the computer. So put on your ballet shoes and dance along with Anita in THE BALLET BIBLE!

Good luck at all of your dance competitions this year!

Cave Diving - The Extreme of the Extreme

When you hear the word cave diving, what do you think of? Is it one of divers who go into dark gloomy caves trailing a rope or string so they can find there way back? Then one of that looks awesome how can I do it. You may even ask yourself what exactly is cave diving.

Pushing to the outer limits, when you are told you can only go so far is a great draw to the daredevils of extreme sports. Part of being extreme is being told the limits and not only moving past them, but also pushing past them. For most, that usually does not occur on the first try. There are several tries and possible injuries before this is accomplished. What happens when that boundary has been claimed? You start all over again to push it even farther.

Cave diving presents situations that you would not run into during a normal open or ocean dive. It exposes you to possible life threatening issues if you are not properly prepared. As a cave diver you are not concerned about injuries, since the only real injury that could occur is death, and that is final. It is for this reason cave diving is considered one of the most extreme sports. You can not get much more extreme than the fact that you could easily die if not successful. The fact that you go into unknown, do what others will not attempt or feel can not be done. The fact that you not only survived but accomplished the task brings self confidence. This will carry over to other areas of your life. In the world of a cave diver what could be more of an adrenaline rush than staring down the possibility of death and winning?

Cave Diving - The extreme of the extreme sports

A direct descent is not used in cave diving. It uses what is called a penetration dive. What this means is that you don't use a vertical ascent to reach the air if trouble starts. The majority of cave divers are well versed in technical diving, but this does not reduce the dangerousness of this extreme sport. Another big draw to cave diving and its risks is the sight of stalactites and stalagmite formations. Then there is the chance of finding archeological items.

Extreme cave diving is done in a passage way that has no pockets of air due to the fact that it is flooded. If a malfunction should occur you have no choice but to continue and return to the surface, all this while still underwater. Your body then has a way to make things appear different then they really are when it feels a threat. It if for this reason you need to have some great control to convince your body what it thinks is happening is not really reality. You must have total control over your senses.

The dive is not the only peril but the return also. This is what brings this sport into the extreme category. The return can be complicated and very long. You must keep control over your senses as there can be an illusion of other things happening. One of the complicated things is that your body must readjust from breathing a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen to that of fresh air. The sensation of gravity as they return to solid ground is one of the elements that the thrill seekers are looking for. The fact that one wrong step at any part of the adventure can have disastrous results this is why cave diving is an extreme of the extreme sports.

Home Equity Popularity

These types of loans and credit have grown in popularity over the years and since the 80s have increased in value. There has been a marked increase in home equity lines of credit as well. There has been a soar in property values and many homeowners have now learned about the management of debt. This property value surge has been influenced mainly by factors such as attractive interest rates and tax deductibility.

The fact that home equity loans and lines of credit are secured by the property of the borrower this means that lenders will think of them as almost secure as primary mortgage. The fact remains that the home equity rates are higher than the typical primary mortgage but they are indeed lower than other means of borrowing. A credit card has a higher interest rate as well as some types of loans especially car loans. This makes them appealing to many persons also as they provide a means to attaining funding that will cost less overall than the typical loan.

Another factor that contributes to the popularity of home equity loans is the fact that they are tax deductible. There was a time that consumer debt was tax deductible but this is no longer so as the government was losing a lot. They needed to find a way to alleviate the budget deficits without raising taxes. Thus, they decided to yank the tax deduction for consumer interest. This was done with the exception of mortgage debt. This means that home equity still falls under this category and you are still able to claim on your taxes for this.

Another connected way to get cash is something called cash out refinancing. This is related to home equity but in order for this to be used there must be some points. These are that the mortgage rates should have dropped and the value of the property should have risen. In the early years this was the market and cash out refinancing was also popular in the early 21st century.

They were able to refinance their primary mortgages for a value greater than the outstanding balance. The process simply means that once the value of the property has increased you are able to refinance your present mortgage up to that amount and pay off the old mortgage. This means off course that you must be capable of paying a mortgage for the higher balance. These installments may be higher than your present installments and you will have to be prepared to meet this to qualify.

It is important even though these financing options are popular to consider carefully which the best option for you to opt for is. There are many that will advise that home equity is better and others that think home equity lines of credit are the way to go. When you are faced with these decisions look carefully at all the options and weigh which is best based on sound financial advice. You will never willing put your home at risk and therefore make sure you are capable of meeting the payments that are planned.

Don't Wait For New Years: Start Your Resolutions Now

Many of us start each New Year determined to accomplish new goals. Often, after a few weeks into the New Year we find our best-laid plans derailed with the challenges and time demands of daily life. As a result, many of us never actualize our well-intentioned goals. You don't have to wait for new years to decide to take action on your most important goals. Here are five time-tested suggestions for achieving your goals now.

Resolution: "A course of action determined or decided on".

The Random House Dictionary

1. When we experience a strong desire for something coupled with the willingness to take action, we set the process of goal achievement in motion. Effective goals are specific, tangible, time limited statements of the results you want. Statements like "I want to be happier" or "I want to be healthier" are too vague to lead you to results. Does your goal meet the SMART test? Effective goals meet the following five criteria:

Specific: Does your goal clearly define what you want? Measurable: How will you know when your goal is achieved? Attainable: Is this goal possible for you to achieve given your characteristics, assets and limitations? Realistic: Does your goal make sense given your current circumstances? Time limited: What is the target date? Without an attached date a goal is a stated intention rather than a desired outcome. You can always change a target date. (Carter-Scott, 2000).

For example, an intention like "I want to be healthier" becomes "I will exercise for 30 minutes per day five times per week for the next six months.

2. Another obstacle to goal attainment is trying to work on to many goals at the same time. Unfortunately, this can dilute our ability to focus. It's important to prioritize your goals. Select the most important resolution and begin to work on it. If you feel you have multiple important goals to work on, limit your self to a maximum of three to optimize your effectiveness. Once you have determined your goal(s), list all the possible things you can do to take action and make your goal come true. Find one-step that resonates with you. Do the first step you selected and then take the next step. If you work daily at something it won't take long to break your goal down into bite size steps that allow you to accomplish a big goal be it writing a book or securing a new job.

3. Structure your environment in a way that optimizes your success. For example, if you are working on improving your health, structure your refrigerator in a way that it supports this goal by keeping nutritious, low fat food choices available. Set-up a walking date with a friend four times per week after work. Organize your support team by asking for help from people you know believe in you. Ask them for support on a daily and/or weekly basis. Reserve time to work on your goal by saying no to things that are not truly important to you. Then leverage this time to work on your goal by building it into your schedule.

4. Change rarely happens in a straight line. It's often two steps forward and one step back. When setbacks occur, process your emotions, put the experience in perspective and then move on. Rather than beat yourself-up with a question like "What's wrong with me? Ask, "What's right with me?" "What is the next step I can take?" "What are my choices now?" Then move forward.

5. Celebrate Success! Reward yourself after the accomplishment of each step you take. Take the necessary steps to experience the fulfillment of your goals!
